Steptember Is Here: Let's Get Stepping

Steptember is here and I bet you are wondering what it is all about and how to sign up?

Well, shockingly the average office worker only takes around 3,000 steps per day! Steptember encourages you and your co-workers to aim for the recommended 10,000 steps per day. Trying to reach the 10,000 steps per day can seem impossible but we have come up with a few ideas to help you build up those steps and encourage your team to as well.

Not only are you going to gain fitness, health and overall wellbeing benefits but doing the Steptember challenge raises money for a great cause: people with cerebral palsy across Australia.

Put your best foot forward, gather some team members and sign up here (it’s never too late to start).

Employers: Sign up a team and get some prizes happening for the winners. A little bit of healthy competition only drives people closer in the workplace, creating a happier and healthier workplace culture.

  1. Step on the spot while waiting at the photocopier, do a few extra steps while eating lunch, go for walks, walk home, park your car a little further away from work or the station.

  2. If you are on a long phone call, stand up, walk around, this will help your thoughts flow and you will be more alert and speak more clearly.

  3. Make the effort to take your breaks! By taking your regular breaks throughout the day you will be more likely to hit your desired step goal.

  4. Think of the benefits of the extra walking. Not only will you feel more fit and energised but your mood will be boosted and you may even feel a positive sense of competition.

  5. Be determined and don't give up. Remember you are in a team, if you feel like you are not getting enough steps in to reach your goal, ask you other team members for some help or tips. This is about having fun, walking more and raising money for a great cause.
